Vienna to Venice! Or is it the other way around, I don't know, I always get these two confused
We went from the one with lots of canals to the one with not lots of canals, hope that clears it up
Okay, so I’m incredibly behind on making notes of all the places we’ve been so trying for a rapid catchup.
Venice was superb, especially the bit where I had to drag the kids for 20 minutes late in the evening on foot along narrow streets searching for our hotel after 10hrs on a train. Oh, and the narrow streets are frequently intersecting with open water. This is what travelling is all about, adventure, etc.

There was pizza, there were gondolas, there was the admiring of art works…

Some art works were more admired than others
Such as this picture of a nun made up of thousands of tiny photos of peoples’ bums. Scandalous!
Anyway, Venice was magnificent and I wish I’d planned to spend more than three nights there because it would have been great to explore it further.
Instead we got our first night train to [drum roll] Venice! Or is it Vienna. The not-canally one.

I must admit Vienna was not a long stop as it didn’t seem to have much in the way of kid-entertainment. And after two nights there I can’t say I was wrong, though it had a lovely big playground. And we did go to a chocolate museum and made our own chocolate bars. Which was very exciting, obviously.

The best bit about VeniceIMeanVienna was the bit where I posted home 9.5kg of summer holiday clothes.

Unfortunately as we were only heading north from here I immediately replaced them with a purchase of 9.5kg of winter clothing. You win some, you lose some.
Absolutely ingenious kid-bed-net invention! 💡🙌🏻
