So, from Prague to Berlin, symbolised by the bear, to explain the title of this entry. I had been extremely looking forward to Berlin because it turns out Germany has PREMIER INNS and their associated BUFFET BREAKFASTS. So the bit where we turned up and it turns out that their family rooms only sleep three people (and no I couldn’t pretend Kid C was a big cuddly toy) and I was either going to have to pay for an extra room OR find a new hotel was sub-optimal.
And that’s the story of how I found myself walking through Berlin looking for a new hotel with three sobbing children and why Premier Inn are now dead to me.
ANYWAY despite an inauspicious start, Berlin did manage to redeem itself with a variety of museums and other fun things to do. I can say without a doubt the highlight for the kids was the Spy Museum, which had all kinds of fun things to do like laser mazes and a lie-detector game.

We even got a selfie with the Berlin Wall (now retired)!

And of course plenty of other museums and another aquarium, yada yada yada. Would I come here again? Yes. Would I come here again with young kids? Probably not as honestly there are better places to go, such as Prague or Copenhagen (my next entry).
Apart from anything Berlin seems to be very much still a cash-society. This is bloody awkward when you’ve just bought a load of food, have no cash on you, and at least one child has already taken a bite of the food and now everyone in the shop hates you.
Like I said, die wurst.
